Bluebird Photo Contest

Last year's 25th Anniversary photo contest was great so we are having another contest this year!

How to enter:

Go to Virginia Bluebird Society’s Facebook page.

Add a bluebird photo as a comment to our post about the photo contest. Please be sure to "like" and "follow" the page to get the latest updates.

  • Photos may be eastern bluebirds in the wild, at your feeders, on your birdbath; photos of bluebird nests, eggs, or babies.

  • Remember to post your photo as a comment on VBS’ original post.

  • Spread the word by sharing our post.

Individuals may post up to two photos no later than April 15th.

** When entering, indicate if we have permission to use your photos on the VBS website where you will receive credit for your photo.

How to vote:

Voting will begin April 18th in an elimination-style contest. Pictures receiving the most “likes” will move on to the next round of voting.

  • Photos will be paired two to a post.

  • You cast your vote by ‘liking’ one of the two paired photos.

  • Be sure to ‘like’ only one of the two. If you like both, you cancel your vote.

The photo with the most likes of each pair advances to the next round.

The process repeats with the winners of each round competing against one another, until the final two photos compete for 1st place.

Prizes:

  • 1st Place - Signed copy of Saving Jemima: Life and Love with a Hard-Luck Jay, by Julie Zickefoose, scheduled keynote speaker for VBS November 2022 conference

  • 2nd Place - 5,000 live mealworms, generously donated by The Nature’s Way, "A Unique Blend of Nature, Soil and Skill."

  • 3rd & 4th Places — One year Virginia Bluebird Society membership ($25 value)

Be sure to check in often…vote, vote, vote, and share, share, share. Tell your family and friends about the photo contest and invite them to enter – or to vote for YOUR photo.
